AQUABLUE MINERAL WATER TAKES UP OFFICIAL WATER PARTNER FOR GHANA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a one-year partnership with AQUABlue, a mineral water company, making them the official water partner of the association.

The partnership was officially announced at an event held at the GFA Secretariat on Thursday, November 9.

According to Kurt Okraku, President of the GFA, the partnership is a significant step towards promoting unity and supporting the development of football in Ghana.

“We are delighted to have AQUABlue on board as our official water partner. Their commitment to supporting us is a testament to their belief in the power of football to bring people together and promote positive change,” he said.

Shadrach Akoenyenu, CEO of AKOA Beverages Limited, expressed similar sentiments, stating that the partnership is not just about providing water, but also about fostering a sense of togetherness and unity through football. “We believe that our partnership with the Ghana Football Association is a testament to our dedication to promoting unity in the spirit of sponsorship,” he said.

Under the terms of the agreement, AQUABlue will provide water for the 12 national teams as well as the staff of the association for the next 12 months. This partnership comes at a crucial time for the GFA, which has faced several challenges in recent years, including financial difficulties and controversies surrounding player bonuses.

Okraku expressed hope that the partnership would continue beyond the initial 12-month period. “We look forward to working closely with AQUABlue over the coming year and hope that after 12 months, they will come back to extend the length of the deal,” he said.

The partnership between the GFA and AQUABlue is seen as a positive development for Ghanaian football, which has struggled to attract sponsors in recent times. The move is expected to boost the morale of players and officials alike, while also providing much-needed resources for the development of grassroots football initiatives.
